No, according to the riva filter material manufacturer, the DVGW fundamentally refuses to issue certifications for water filter systems with a filter fineness below 80 micrometers. riva water filter materials are well below 80 μ. Our fine-pored, efficient filter solutions start at 20 μ.
The following reasons are cited, which are inexplicably provided:

1. a) There are no corresponding test regulations.
2. b) Drinking water from the public water supply does not require further treatment, as it is thoroughly and regularly tested by water supply companies and monitored by the health authority as part of state health oversight.

Requests from riva, filter material manufacturers, and other water filter manufacturers are regularly rejected on this basis. This happens without any consideration of the facts, proven by expert opinions and certificates, that activated carbon filters and membrane filters naturally filter out substances that:

1. a) Enter the water after leaving the waterworks – copper and lead from pipes and fittings – bacteria from leaks and stagnations – chlorine from disinfection measures.
2. b) Are currently not even tested for during waterworks monitoring due to the effort involved, such as pharmaceutical residues, hormones, PFTs, and many others… but CAUTION, these are demonstrably and increasingly present in water. Approximately 90% of waterworks cannot filter these out at all.
3. c) Cause taste and odor impairments in water. These are not objectively verified within the scope of the “thorough investigations by water supply companies” (see above), except for the statement that water should be odorless and tasteless, and are notoriously difficult to objectively determine.

Furthermore, the statements of the (private-law) DVGW that only devices and products with a DVGW test mark may be used are legally incorrect.
Conclusion:

The flow rate of the cartridges depends on the specific cartridge type.
Generally, however, it can be said that all cartridges, at a standard household water pressure of approximately 3 bar, have a flow rate between 8–11 l/min.
However, the shower system is limited to 6.5 liters per minute by the special ecoturbino system to extend the filter’s lifespan.

The water pressure is reduced by approximately 0.3 bar at an average household water pressure, but this is completely “neutralized” by the ecoturbino in terms of shower comfort.

The shower experience with only 6.5 l/min water consumption remains fully intact.

Even with a double filter, the water pressure is not further reduced.

Our riva water filters are suitable for both cold and warm water.
Generally, an ideal water temperature for filtration is considered to be a maximum of 55 degrees Celsius.
Most filters in the rivaALVA series can be used up to a maximum of 65°C.
For membrane filters, the following differences should be noted:

• A hollow fiber membrane filter like riva Multi can handle up to 65°C for short periods, while the rivaALVA-S Jova should not filter water warmer than 40 degrees Celsius. This depends entirely on the specific filter material used.
• When using a shower filter, it is ideal to set the temperature to a level you would personally shower with. Under no circumstances should a shower filter be used at full temperature for filling bathwater.
• By keeping the temperature at a maximum of approximately 55 degrees Celsius, the filter material remains undamaged, and the water is generally more than body-warm.

If the cartridge is replaced approximately every 6 months as recommended, in accordance with DIN 1988, there is no risk of germ formation, provided the filter is used regularly.

Usage rules for interruptions in water filter use

Simply let at least 3 liters of water run through before use.
After 6 months: Generally, always replace the filter after 6 months.
